WALK-INS

We understand that scheduling can be difficult when you have kids, which is why many of our clients prefer to walk-in. While we try our best to accommodate walk-ins, due to our growing popularity, we have seen an increase in appointments. Therefore, we recommend that you give us a call on your way to our location so we can secure the appointment slots your family needs.

LATE POLICY

Please note that if you arrive more than 5-10 minutes late for your appointment, we may have to cancel it to avoid inconvenience to other clients. However, if you inform us in advance by calling us as soon as you know you will be late, we may be able to adjust the appointments and still provide you with the service.

FIRST & EARLY HAIRCUT PREPPING

There is no specific time or age that is considered the “right” time for children to get their first haircut. The timing depends more on factors such as whether their hair is bothering them by getting into their eyes or on the back of their neck, or if it is growing into a style that you do not like. When any of these factors are present, it is time for a haircut, but it is better to call it a trim.

Here are some ideas and tricks that can make these early haircuts easier for both you and your child:

  • Visit the salon with your child the day before your appointment it helps them know the space
  • Bring your child in to watch a loved one getting their haircut, this shows your child’s haircuts are okay
  • On haircut day arrive prepared: bring snacks and the best items that keep them occupied.
  • When prepping them for their haircut refer to it as a trim or styling because typically little kids only know that cuts hurt.
  • A change of clothes helps in case hair gets in their clothing, itching after their haircut could make them not like haircuts

LICE POLICY

Lice infestations can be an inconvenient and frustrating experience for anyone. It’s common for people to feel embarrassed or ashamed, but it’s essential to know that lice are not a reflection of cleanliness or hygiene. In fact, lice often spread through the sharing of items such as clothing, hair-ties, pillows, and stuffed animals. It’s important to note that lice are not highly contagious, and individuals can be in close proximity to those who have lice without becoming infested.

However, when it comes to salons, the risk of lice spreading is higher as the salon is centered around working with hair. The North Carolina Cosmetology Board prohibits salons from performing services on clients who have lice. Our stylists are trained to identify lice and nits, and all hair services begin with a thorough lice check. While it can be disappointing for clients to be turned away due to lice, we have an obligation to maintain a lice-free environment for all of our clients. Therefore, when we detect lice, we stop services, inform our clients, decontaminate the station, and treat any materials or surfaces the client has come into contact with to ensure that no lice or nits remain.

If you have any questions about lice or need help getting rid of them, we recommend checking out the Lucky Lady Lice Removal website. They are a local and reputable service provider.
